Skin Care Moisturizer
hydration, the key to smooth skin
All skin types need moisture. A light moisturizer should be applied under make-up during the day to protect the face. Your night time regime should include a rich moisturizer to renew you skin while your sleep.
Almond and Avocado Moisturizing Cream
3 tsp. beeswax
3 tsp. emulsifying wax
*1/2 cup almond oil
1/2 cup avocado oil
3 Tbl. heated rosewater

Melt the beeswax and emulsifying wax in a double boiler or water bath (do not set wax directly over heat). Continually stirring, add the almond oil, avocado oil, and the heated rosewater drop by drop. Remove from heat and continue to stir until cool. If you wish you may add a fragrance at this time.
*Almond oil is a wonderful emollient (a substance that prevents water loss from the skin). The protein content is thought to stimulate production of collagen and elasticity.
Avocado oil is high in various nutrients, such as: vitamin A, E and D (more so than milk). The oil encourages cell regeneration, and moisturizing.

Sunflower Moisturizing Cream
4 tsp. lanolin
2 tsp. emulsifying wax
2 tsp. beeswax
5 Tbl. sunflower oil
6 Tbl. water
2 tsp. glycerin
1/2 tsp. Borax

Melt the beeswax, emulsifying wax and oils in a double boiler or water bath (do not set wax directly over heat). In a separate pan, heat water, glycerin and Borax, making sure the borax is completely dissolved. While the wax is still heating and with a wooden spoon, stir in the water mixture drop by drop. Continual stirring until you get a whitish, thick and rich creamy mixture.
Sunflower oil is known for its moisturizing qualities. In addition, it acts as a protective layer on the skin and holds moisture in. Furthermore, it contains Vitamin E which is a natural antioxidant. This recipe will leave the skin looking moist and soft.

Aloe Moisturizer Cream
Aloe Vera is great for skin. Mix equal amount of mineral water and Aloe Vera gel. Heat the mixture till it becomes a cream. When it cools down, store it in an airtight jar.
Jasmine Moisturizing Cream
2 Tbl. emulsifying wax
2 Tbl. almond or sunflower oil
1/2 tsp. Borax
1/2 tsp. witch-hazel
1 1/2 tsp. glycerin
8 Tbl. water
a few drops of jasmine oil

Melt the emulsifying wax and almond oil in a double boiler or water bath (do not set wax directly over heat). In a separate pan, heat water, glycerin and Borax, making sure the borax is completely dissolved. Once the Borax is completely dissolved, add the witch-hazel. Remove wax mixture from stove and slowly add water to the wax mixture. Stir constantly until cool. When cool, add jasmine oil. The non-greasy cream formed is very suitable for normal to oily skins types.
