Homemade Hair Lightening Recipes

These simple yet natural hair lightening recipes will bring you closer to the beautiful hair you deserve.

Honey for Highlightening
Honey
Add a tablespoon of honey to your shampoo, more for long hair. Honey has a natural bleaching agent and will lighten hair over time. Addtionally it is very hydrating to both skin and hair.
Chamomille Tea for Hair Lightening
4 Tablespoons chamomille
2/3 cup water
Let the chamomille steep in hot water about 15 minutes. Allow the tea to cool. Rinse hair with the tea and go out into the sun. Note: some teas such as black tea will darken hair so it is well advised to do a strand patch test.
Hydrogen Peroxide for Hair Lightening
1 cup hydrogen peroxid
1 spray bottle
Spray the are of your hair that you would like to lighten. Dry with hair dryer. Continue the process until you achieve the lightness you want. Proceed cautiously as this will lighten dark hair quickly.
Infamous Lemon Juice for Hair Lightening
4 Tablespoons lemon juice
2/3 cup water
Combine ingredients and apply to hair. Go outside and dry hair naturally in the sun. This is the most common hair lightening recipes however most any citrus will work.
