Skin Cleansing it all starts here Cleansing the skin with the right skin cleanser specifically designed for your skin type is the first step in promoting healthy skin. All skin types require cleansing to remove dead cells, make-up residue, and daily grime. The proper way to cleanse the skin is a circular upward motion. If you are using a cleansing cream, use your fingertips for application of the lotion. For removal of eye makeup use a cotton ball or gauze soaked in eye makeup remover and gently sweep the eyelids, eyebrows and under the eyes. The best way to remove mascara is to place a moistened tissue or cotton ball with eye makeup remover under the lower lashes and therefore when closing your eyes you can stroke both set of lashes together. Most face cleansing creams and lotions do not recommend that they be used for removal of eye makeup, therefore a good make-up remover is essential to proper cleansing of all areas of the face. Hand soap or bath soap is not recommended for cleansing the face. Soap has a tendency to dry and skin and in some people the harsh chemical in soap may cause allergic reactions such as a rash. There are a number of facial cleansing cloths on the market and a whole assortment of lotion or liquid cleansers. Finding the right product that suits your skin type and makes your skin glow is trial and error. An alternative to purchasing store bought cleansers is to make your own. The benefits of making your own cleanser are: 1) knowing the ingredients that you are placing on your face. 2) most ingredients may already be in your kitchen, and if not already in your kitchen, ingredients can be purchased at a reasonable cost. 3) In addition, with the affordable cost of making your own cleaner, you have the opportunity to find the right recipe to fit your skin type.
