Therapeutic Body Wrap
the ultimate in skin care

A body wrap is a spa method used to melt away inches, reduce cellulite, smooth the skin, and reduce toxins in the body.  In addition it will tone and tighten the skin and is especially useful after weight loss or pregnancy.

A body wrap consists of wrapping the body in hot  cloths soaked in herbal essences and/or mineral oils and spirits or applying a paste to the skin. Once wrapped you are in your body wrap about 60 minutes.

Prior to wrapping you should take your body measurements (around arms, thighs, hips, breasts, etc), so that you can compare the changes in your measurements after the wrap comes off.  In addition, you should take a warm shower to open your pores.

If you prefer a complete body wrap kit which detoxifies the body, Verseo has a wonderful product at a great price.  Check out The New Hollywood Detox Body Wrap - Detoxify like the Stars! Clay Body Wrap Recipe

1 cup clay  (select the proper clay for your skin type-see table at the bottom of this recipe).
1/4 cup dead sea salt
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 cups water

Boil water and add sea salt until it is dissolved.  Add remaining ingredients and stir. Adjust the water if necessary to form a wet paste.

Rub the mixture over your entire body and cover yourself with thin towels or a clean cotton or flannel sheet.  If you like you can cut an old cotton or flannel sheet into various size strips and wrap your arms, legs, belly, etc., separately.  In addition, ace bandages can be used as a wrap.  Your wraps should be warmed either by microwave or warm water.

Lie in the tub and relax for 45 to 60 minutes.

Cellophane Body Wrap for Cellulite

8 drops Grapefruit essential oil
2 drops essential oils of thyme, fennel, lavender, geranium, and juniper berry
2 cups almond oil
Cellophane wrap

Warm up your bathroom or bedroom.  Combine all essential oils and almond oil in a squirt bottle and shake well. Exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin. Continue to shake or stir the oil mixture after each application to skin.

Workings upwards, apply mixture to feet and legs. Wrap feet and legs with cellophane snugly but do not cut off circulation.  Wrap arms beginning at the hands and continue moving upwards to upper arm. Wrap buttocks and belly continue moving up the torso.

Relax for 20 minutes in a warm room for 20 minutes. Remove the cellophane and shower in warm water and then cooler water to close the pore. Pat skin dry.
